Course Overview

This Level 2 Diploma is ideal for individuals continuing their studies in the construction industry and looking to develop the specialist skills required to become a professional painter and decorator. The course is designed to help you build practical competencies while actively preparing for employment.

In addition to technical training, your study programme will include English and maths at a level appropriate to your needs. These subjects are integrated to support your overall employability and readiness to progress to the Level 3 Painting and Decorating course.

Course Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above including maths and English.

Successful completion of Level 1 Painting and Decorating.

What you will Learn

Throughout the programme, you will gain hands-on experience in key areas such as:
– Preparing surfaces for decoration
– Applying paint using brushes and rollers
– Hanging standard wall and ceiling papers
– Mastering decorative techniques

You will also learn how to safely erect and dismantle access equipment and working platforms, ensuring you are equipped for real-world site conditions.

Assessment

This course is assessed with practical modules, theory units, online exams and assignments. At the end of the course you will also be required to complete 2 exams in painting and decorating.
Your personal tutor will prepare and support you for all assessments and online exams.

Progression

Level 3 Painting and Decorating or applying for an apprenticeship in your chosen trade. This course provides a good foundation for future career opportunities or progression to a more advanced work-related qualification such as an apprenticeship.
